What is a CDFA®?

A Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®), uses their knowledge of tax, matrimonial laws, asset distribution and financial planning to achieve property and debt settlements for divorce. A CDFA® is a designation geared explicitly towards professionals in the field of matrimonial law. They can assist in coming up with different scenarios for property division and evaluating both the short and long-term implications of these options for either or both parties.

The institute that administers the designation is the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts (IDFA™) which provides specialized training to accounting, financial, and legal professionals in the field of divorce financial planning.
